In the past, I have owned and played drums made by Slingerland, Pearl, Gretsch, Tama and Yamaha.
I am currently playing Gretsch USA Custom drums in Dark Walnut Gloss Lacquer finish, and a Yamaha set from the 70s in Natural Maple finish. The sizes are:

  • 12" x 8" mounted tom
  • 13" x 9" mounted tom
  • 14" x 14" floor tom
  • 22" x 16" bass drum

My snare drums are:

  • 14" x 6.5" 20 split-lug Gretsch USA Custom snare drum in Dark Walnut Lacquer
  • 14" x 6.5" Ludwig Chrome over Brass with tube lugs
  • 14" x 5" Ludwig Hand-Hammered Bronze with imperial lugs

I use Yamaha hi-hat and bass drum pedals as well as cymbal stands.

Heads

On all my drums, I use Remo heads. Clear or Coated Ambassadors, or Clear or Coated Controlled Sound, or White Suede Ambassadors.

Sticks

I play Vic Firth Amercian Classic 2B sticks, brushes and Timpani mallets.

Recording

I record with the BOSS BR-1600 Digital Recording Studio which is a stand-alone hard-drive recorder with built-in CD writer etc. Quite nice, and extremely portable. I use a mixture of Shure, Audix and Behringer microphones as well as Sennheiser headphones.
